Garden

Welcome to Sparkling Creek Farm! We have a very fertile 22-acre field that we have been working on to transform into a fruitful garden for over two years now. We have been growing organically, and are working towards becoming certified. For us, growing good quality, wholesome food is more than just a personal preference. We believe it is vital to sustaining our physical well-being on this planet. We also desire to provide others with the opportunity to eat good food at a time when “good food” is not so easy to find.

What makes our garden so fertile? It’s probably the fact that it actually is located beside a creek, Richland Creek that is, and benefits from the annual flooding that takes place each spring. The creek is springfed and is a home to fish and wildlife, which provides us with the confidence that we need that we are irrigating our gardens with clean, uncontaminated water. The creek is also a source of relief and refreshment to us gardeners as we take occasional breaks from our labors to enjoy the cool water it provides, yes, even on the hottest days of summer!

We have a lot of vision for this piece of property. We have many thoughts and plans for the future, but we will tell you some things that may be of interest to you that we have already been doing. We process our own compost, using a combination primarily of leaves and cow manure. We recycled used cooking grease from some fairs and restaurants last spring and have been powering our tractor with that grease. We have planted about 500 rabbiteye blueberry bushes on one section of our property and look forward to the bountiful harvest from those in years to come. This past summer sweet potatoes was one of our bigger crops and having success with that, we intend to grow even more this year. Our farm is located just outside the city limits of Pulaski, Tennessee. Pulaski is a relatively small town, surrounded on every side by a rural setting of rolling hills and farmland. The farm does not have any living quarters on it presently, but it is within short walking distance from where we live in town. We look forward to Sparkling Creek Farm becoming a place where both locals and volunteers from afar can join us in the satisfaction labor of growing organic food, sustainably!

We welcome your interest.
